A Message from the Deputy Prime Minister

A Message from the Deputy Prime Minister

DEPUTY PRIME MINISTER                                                                                  Warsaw, March 31, 2009

                         MINISTER

     OF INTERIOR AND ADMINISTRATION

                 Grzegorz Schetyna

Dear Exhibitors, Dear Visitors,

Let me bid a very warm welcome to the Participants in the 4th International Police Conference on Security Systems at Large Scale Events, as well as the Exhibitors, Organisers and Visitors at the Europoltech 2009 International Fair of Technology and Equipment for the Police and National Security Services, which accompanies the Conference.

It is an honour for me to extend my auspices over events which are so important, not only to the Police, but also to the other services subject to and supervised by the Minister of Interior and Administration.

The conference is one of the elements of the Polish Police’s preparation for organising and providing security

at the EURO 2012 Football Championships. We want the Conference to be a platform for experience exchange between the Polish Police and other European police services on the development of a security system for large scale events and the principles of co-operation between central government agencies and local governments during the organisation of such events.

Europoltech 2009, with its more than 160 Polish and international exhibitors who offer cutting-edge technology and equipment for the security and law enforcement services, like other similar events plays the part of a forum

to match potential customers with suppliers. The meetings, discussions and presentations which take place during the Fair create a good platform where views are exchanged, and procedures and processes which run in parallel with the Upgrade Programme are learnt about.

It is worth emphasising that in spite of budget limitations, the Upgrade Programme will be continued. We are monitoring new developments and undertake actions in order for the financial limitations not to affect adversely the performance of statutory tasks by services and agencies subordinate to myself.

Let me wish the Conference Participants productive discussions and the formulation of the best ideas for carrying out the EURO 2012 project, which is immensely important to Poland.

Let me encourage the Exhibitors to continue their participation in the upgrade process of the Polish Police,

the Border Guard (SG), the State Fire Service (PSP) and the Government Protection Bureau (BOR); I wish you well in meeting your expectations of exhibiting at the Europoltech 2009 police technology fair.

And I wish to thank the Gdańsk International Fair Co. for having organised an event of such importance to police services.
