A Message from the Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Polish Police
Chairman of the Programme Council
Inspector Andrzej Trela Polish Police Deputy Commander-in-Chief
Dear Exhibitors, Dear Visitors, Let me welcome you very warmly for the fourth time at the EUROPOLTECH International Fair of Technology and Equipment for the Police and National Security Services, edition 2009. I was satisfied to hear of businesses’ interest in an event which is so important to the Police and in exhibiting at this year’s edition.
This year, the Polish Police is continuing an immense technological upgrade logistics project. Thanks to the funds earmarked for the Police in an Act of 12 January 2007 on the 2007-2009 Upgrade Programme for the Polish Police, the Border Guard (SG), the State Fire Service (PSP) and the Government Protection Bureau (BOR), the Police has an opportunity to make use of cutting-edge technology and equipment, including communications and IT systems, weaponry and protective equipment, police transport and dedicated technologies for specialised services. All these areas will be presented at Europoltech to create a unique opportunity to find out about the latest achievements in the equipment for services which carry out national security tasks.
Europoltech will be accompanied by a number of briefings, seminars and symposia. I recommend especially the exhibition of the most technologically advanced products which are of the greatest use to the police and national security services, presented in the SUPERMODERN 2009 Promotion Programme.
Another very interesting programme featured at Europoltech is the first public presentation of the research and development results of the Polish Platform for Homeland Security. Its five exhibition stands will feature some of the products developed within the Platform’ research programmes – the Police’s future tools of the trade. A science and technology conference on High-Tech ICT Solutions for Police Services will also be an important event on the agenda.
I am convinced that both Europoltech and the presentations organised within its framework will facilitate the police services’ upgrade tasks. In spite of temporary difficulties, the Polish Police executives will make every effort to maintain a high level of financing for the equipment upgrade process under way. The continuation of the upgrade process is the best direction for modernising the individual services’ equipment. That is why it is today that the principles for an upgrade programme for the coming years are being developed.
I encourage the Exhibitors to take an active part in the upgrading of the police and national security services; I wish you good luck and successful results from exhibiting at EUROPOLTECH.
I would like to express my thanks to the EUROPOLTECH Organiser – the Gdańsk International Fair Co. (MTG SA) – for their professional development of this exhibition project; I wish you further success in organising events which are so necessary and useful to the Police and other national security services.
