A Message from the Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Polish Police

CHAIRMAN OF THE PROGRAMME COUNCIL

Senior Commissioner Andrzej Trela

Deputy Commander-in-Chief, Polish Police

Ladies and Gentlemen,

I am extremely pleased to welcome you to the Europoltech 2011 International Fair  of Technology and Equipment for the Police and National Security Services. This project is organised for the fifth time and has permanently entered the calendar of events of Gdańsk International Fair Co. (MTG SA) and the National Police Headquarters. The information on the constantly growing number of exhibitors as well as those visiting the trade fair fills us with satisfaction.

This year, the Polish Police is to complete the first stage of the technical modernisation of its forces, on which it has spent more than PLN 3 billion in the past five years. With these funds, as well as efficient logistics services and reliable suppliers of equipment and services, the Polish Police is an even more modern formation, and the organisational activity conducted in the last two years has contributed to a further increase in its efficiency, while rationalising expenditures.

The need to optimise the operating costs and increase the level of organisational efficiency of the formation, in particular of the department supporting the Police, caused that the process is also carried out based on the results of research projects commissioned by the Police and executed on its behalf.

The combination of research results with the planned implementation of the concept of continuation of the Program for modernisation of the Police, Border Guard, State Fire Service and the Government Protection Bureau in 2007-2011” is the source of hope for the continuation of equipping the Police with the latest technology in the subsequent years, including communications and IT systems, weapons and protective equipment, police vehicles and technology designed for specialised services.

The fair will be accompanied by information sessions and specialised seminars. I especially recommend the exhibition of products of supreme technical advancement and of the highest utility for the Police forces and national security services presented under the SUPERMODERN 2011 promotional programme, and a presentation of the results of research and implementation work of the Polish Platform for Homeland Security.'

An important event during the fair will also be special seminars conducted by the Central Anticorruption Bureau entitled "Good practice in the operation and implementation of public procurement" and the General Headquarters of the Polish Police entitled "ICT innovation in the activity of the armed forces" and "The latest technology in meeting safety management, identification of hazards and people, and protection of facilities."

I am convinced that both the fair and the accompanying presentations will foster the continuation of the tasks associated with the modernisation of the police forces. The Police Management will make every effort to maintain a high level of funding for the modernisation process. Its continuation in next few years is an important direction of the continuation of the process of upgrading the technical equipment of individual forces, which will result in a more effective fight against crime.

I encourage exhibitors to actively participate in the modernisation of the police forces and national security services, and hope that the participation in the Europoltech Fair will translate into your business success and personal satisfaction.

I want to thank the organiser of the fair - Gdańsk International Fair Co. (MTG SA) for the professional preparation of the project, and wish it further success in the organisation of the trade fair, so necessary and useful for the Police and other national security services.
